So I'm beginning work on my first real cosplay, I choose to be Victoria from Brian Kesinger's Otto and Victoria print not in Kanses anymore where the duo are dressed as Dorothy from the Wizard of Oz and Otto takes the place of Toto in the basket. Brian is one of my favorite artists and I love steampunk so Victoria was definitely high on my list to do but I wanted to do a version of here that hasn't been seen much since her Doctor Who outfit and general appearance are quite popular and who can blame folks? they're awesome! So far I've just begun with Victoria's Ruby boots. I used my black Victorian boots as a base because the poor dears had definitely seen better days but I love them so much I hate to part with them so this project is breathing new life into the darlings. This is going to be the longest and most tedious part of this cosplay since I'm covering the boots in red and red AB rhinestones instead of simply glittering them because that's to easy right? lol I believe my smallest size is either 2.5 or 3mm and the larges is a 5mm. Normally a pair of shoes like flats or heels takes me about two or three solid weeks to cover so it'll be interesting to see how long it takes to do a pair of calf high boots and replace the buttons with new red ones. Wish me luck everyone and any input you can give on the progress of the costume would be welcome :-) I'm having trouble finding a good make up to do Victoria's lips since they're teal...I've seen lipsticks but most look like they have sheer coverage and I'm looking for a opaque look. I can mix pigment with clear gloss or coconut oil if I really need to but I'd like a more long lasting and matte look.
